Edison he bought EDF EN Italy da EDF Renouvelables for 172,3 million euro. EDF EN Italia owns plants that produce a total of 265 MW of wind capacity and 77 MW of photovoltaic power. Thanks to this operation, Edison becomes the second wind operator in Italy, “consolidating 975 MW of capacity – reads the company's press release – and lays the foundations for a significant development in the photovoltaic sector in collaboration with EDF Renouvelables”.

Edison also stresses that the acquisition is consistent with one of the main guidelines of his development plan, which foresees “significant growth in the electricity generation sector electricity from renewable sources”, with the aim of achieving “the 40% of the group's total production by 2030 and for that same date, also an emissions target of 260 grams of CO2/kWh”.

The operation allows Edison to consolidate approximately 70 million euros of additional Ebitda per year, in front of a increase in the net financial position (NFP) of approximately 431 million euro, "without jeopardizing the financial solidity or limiting the possibility of seizing any new investment opportunities", concludes the press release.
