Stable unemployment in the OECD area, applications for subsidies are growing in Italy

According to data released by the Parisian agency, unemployment in the OECD area remained stable at 7,6% in January – In the Eurozone the rate stood at 12%, while it grew to 12,9% in Italy – According to INPS, unemployment applications grew by 9,6% on an annual basis in our country in January.

It remains stable unemployment in advanced countries. In January, according to data processed by theOECD, the unemployment rate still settled at 7,6%. The number of unemployed instead reached 46,2 million units, 3,8 million less than the peak reached in April 2010, but 11,5 million more than the minimum recorded in July 2008. Again in January, in 'Eurozone the unemployment rate remained stable at 12%, while in Italy increased by 0,2%, to 12,9%.

In Italy the unemployment claims they grew 9,6% year-on-year in January. This was communicated by INPS, specifying that in January 138.352 applications for ASpI, 49.588 applications for mini ASpI, 302 applications between ordinary and special construction unemployment and 16.412 applications for mobility, for a total of 204.654 applications were presented.

In February, however, 83,3 million hours were authorized layoffs, between ordinary, extraordinary and derogating interventions, with an increase of +5,3% on an annual basis. The increase is due to the interventions of extraordinary layoffs (Cigs) and in derogation (Cigd), which grew respectively by 16,9 and 55,6%.
