Deutsche Bank: Acea needs a clearer regulatory framework within which to operate

Acea represents "a well diversified asset, but with the need for a clear strategy". The company takes the form of a multi-utility with a strong presence in the water and energy sectors, which make up 80% of the group's Ebitda. This is what emerges from a report prepared by analysts of Deutsche Bank.

According to the Germans, with the recent change of government in Italy, the political framework seems more favorable for developing networks and infrastructures, which are Acea's core business. However, the uncertainty about tariffs will persist at least until 2012, pending the elaboration of a precise regulatory system on water.

Acea's dividend policy is to distribute 65-70% of the consolidated net profit, a sustainable figure from a financial point of view. This year the company has started the payment of dividends with an advance payment of 0,28 euro per share which will be paid on December 19, so as to maximize the interests of the shareholders.
