Government beaten in the Chamber on the Corruption bill. An amendment on which the Executive had expressed a negative opinion was approved with 237 votes in favor and 233 against. Presented and then withdrawn by the Pd, the same correction was proposed again by Italia dei Valori and passed also thanks to the votes of the Democrats. The text of the discord reads as follows: "The failure to pay the remuneration by the undue recipient public employee constitutes a hypothesis of tax liability subject to the jurisdiction of the Court of Auditors".
Meanwhile, the Government is committed to launching a code of ethics for civil servants. As far as the judiciary is concerned, it will be up to the trade associations or, in the event of their inaction, the self-governing bodies to launch the rules of conduct, the violation of which will lead to disciplinary responsibility. This is one of the most significant passages approved today in Deputies in the new version of the text of article 4 of the corruption bill, proposed by the Minister of Public Administration Filippo Patroni Griffi.
