Covid in Naples: the green solidarity of taxis

In the Campania capital, the partnership between Snam4Mobility and the Wetaxi app kicks off: taxi drivers deliver basic necessities on board gas-powered vehicles.

Covid in Naples: the green solidarity of taxis

In Naples environment and solidarity go hand in hand. In fact, the "solidarity green taxis" are arriving, the result of the collaboration between Snam4Mobility, the subsidiary of Snam which is a natural gas mobility operator, and Wetaxi, the app that calls taxis present in 22 Italian cities and which has just launched the Delivery service for the free delivery, on board vehicles, of basic necessities in the area during the Coronavirus emergency. The initiative therefore starts from the Campania capital: the service is active on the Wetaxi app or on the radiotaxi number 081.22.22, and the goods, mostly food and other necessary goods, are distributed on behalf of the ActionAid and Proodos Consortium associations to over 200 needy families who live in the metropolitan area.

The project aims at combine social commitment and sustainability, leveraging both the environmental (reduction of pollutants and CO2 emissions) and economic (lower cost of refueling) benefits guaranteed by the characteristics smart green of natural gas. Safety is also protected: the entire fleet of Consortaxi 08.22.22 which adheres to "solidarity green taxis" adopts a car sanitization system, and taxi drivers are equipped with surgical masks and are properly trained on the hygiene rules to be adopted for an adequate performance of the service. As for taxis, they are made available by Snam4Mobility, the reference operator for natural gas (compressed methane CNG and liquefied LNG) and renewable gas (biomethane) mobility in Italy.

Among other things, Italy is the European leader in this sector can count today on over one million CNG cars on the road and on a network of distributors of almost 1.400 units, which is also expanding thanks to the investments of the group led by Marco Alverà.
