Cotoni Albini, sustainability and traceability of the entire supply chain

I Cotoni di Albini, a company of the Albini Group specialized in production of high-end yarns, closes 2018 with a turnover result in line with 2017, a year that had recorded strong growth, and continues to focus on quality. In fact, thanks to the partnership with Supima and Oritain, the Lombard company is now the first and only company to be able to offer 100% scientifically traceable Supima cotton, thanks to a highly innovative method developed by Oritain, one of the world leaders in forensic science .

With this collaboration, each phase of production is traceable and it is therefore possible from the yarn, and finally from the finished fabric, to trace the field in which the cotton was grown with precision. Thus a process of integration of the supply chain is stimulated which has transparency as a key requirement, as a complete guarantee towards customers, who are increasingly protected from contamination by non-pure products.

“The maintenance of positions – he explains Daniele Arioldi, President of I Cotoni di Albini – constitutes an extremely positive result, obtained thanks to the development of new markets, the focus on increasingly valuable cottons and raw materials, also in the organic version, and the recent investments aimed at strengthening the commercial network and the internal structure to support customers" .

“Always I Cotoni di Albini – he added the Chairman of the parent company Cotonificio Albini SpA Stefano Albini – is at the forefront of sustainability processes in the textile industry, also working in partnership with important customers. With this revolutionary project, the product is traced from the cultivation field to the point of sale. A guarantee not only of origin, but also of quality and ethical and sustainable production”.

In addition to Supima cotton, completely traced by Oritain, I Cotoni di Albini offers for the new collection also yarns made with the famous and precious Caribbean cotton Sea island and with cotton organic, cultivated with methods that do not involve the use of pesticides, insecticides and chemical fertilizers and which reduce water consumption to a minimum.

In addition to the cotton proposal, the offer also includes yarns in pure wool and in melee with noble fibers such as set and cashmere, even in very fine titrations, perfect for the winter season.
