Coronavirus, Snam: the first fans and masks arrive

A flight from China arrived in Milan on 31 March organized by the Farnesina and the Italian Embassy in Beijing carrying the first 250 ventilators and 600 masks purchased and donated by Snam. This was announced by the managing director of Snam, Marco Alverà. The medical material will be distributed to the health structures of various Italian regions by the Civil Protection, with the coordination of the extraordinary commissioner Domenico Arcuri, on the basis of needs. Furthermore, another 450 ventilators and 4,5 million masks are already in stock in Beijing, ready to leave for Italy.

Snam will donate a total of 625 fans and 600 masks, as part of the allocation of 20 million euros decided for the coronavirus emergency in favor of the health system and the non-profit sector. The company is also purchasing other medical equipment on behalf of the extraordinary commissioner's structure, with which it has signed a letter of intent in recent days. "We will continue to put our resources and skills at the service of the country - said Alverà - and we are proud to be able to make a concrete contribution to healthcare workers and their extraordinary work to overcome this difficult moment together".
