Consob: in 2013 sharp increase in sanctions and disqualifications

The total amount of pecuniary sanctions inflicted by Consob in 2013 jumped to 32,6 million (9,26 million in 2012), while the disqualification measures against individuals were 20 (14 in 2012) - The balance will be available in the report to the Minister of the Economy which Consob sends every year by 31 March.

In 2013, the fines imposed by Consob increased significantly, going from 9,26 million in 2012 to 32,6 million in the previous year. There were also 20 disqualification measures against natural persons, compared to 14 in 2012. The data is contained in the first 2014 issue of the Consob newsletter which, as usual, draws up an initial provisional assessment of the Institute's activity in the year just ended.

The final budget, according to ConsobInforma, will be available in the report to the Minister of the Economy that Consob sends every year by 31 March. 

Still with regard to the sanctioning activity, the measures against financial intermediaries were 14 (7 in 2012), for a value of the sanctions imposed of 2,3 million (1,47 in 2012). 142 sanctioning procedures were concluded (172 in 2012). The penalties for market abuse 14 (11 in 2012), those against financial advisors 63 (85 in 2012).

The value of the confiscated assets amounted to 1,8 million (5,89 million in 2012).
