Confindustria Cultura, Cipolletta is the new president

Innocenzo Cipolletta is the new president of Confindustria Cultura Italia, the federative system of Confindustria associations representing the cultural and creative industries. A sector which, according to the estimates of the industrial association itself, it creates an added value of almost 24 billion euros a year, equal to 1,5% of the GDP, and employs 343 people, equal to 1,2% of the employed. Cipolletta was elected by the General Council for the next three years.

The appointment comes after the strengthening of the federative system of Confindustria Cultura Italia which, alongside other associations (such as AFI – Italian Phonographic Association, AIE – Italian Publishers Association, FIMI – Italian Music Industry Federation and PMI – Independent Music Producers), sees the 'entry of the Cultural and Creative Enterprises Association - AICC and the return of the National Association of Audiovisual and Multimedia Film Industries - ANICA, of the Association of Audiovisual Producers - APA and of UNIVIDEO - Italian Union of Audiovisual Publishing Digital and Online Media, extending its representativeness within the world of cultural and creative industries.

Innocenzo Cipolletta, economist and former director general of Confindustria, already boasts various offices in the cultural universe: among others, he is president of AICC, the association that brings together companies that manage services for the enhancement, use and promotion of cultural heritage , as well as a member of the BoD of Laterza SpA and of the Board of Directors of the Association for the Economy of Culture (AEC) after having been its President from 2008 to 2019. The Vice-President elected is Sergio Cerruti (Italian Phonographic Association - AFI), while Fabio Del Giudice (Italian Publishers Association - AIE) was confirmed director.

“I thank my colleagues for the trust shown. I am convinced – commented Cipolletta – that Confindustria Cultura Italia constitutes a fundamental tool for strengthening the cultural industry as a whole within the production and development logic of our country. And in this direction we will work, together with the collaboration of all the components, to identify common points of intervention, starting from the defense of copyright. We are talking about an immense heritage made up of traditions, history, but above all an industrial supply chain that guarantees added value and development in the area and which today more than ever must be supported and protected above all in light of the recent events that have hit the city of Venice hard, an example of cultural and seat of the most important manifestations of art in all its forms”.

"Best wishes for a good job to Innocenzo Cipolletta - added the president of Confindustria, Vincenzo Boccia – whose appointment as president gives strength and value to Confindustria Cultura Italia. A fundamental sector of our system not only for numbers which it can exhibit but above all for the contribution of ideas, projects and suggestions it can confer within the association and in the country. In particular, we need to develop a more convinced industrial culture at the service of sustainable growth that knows how to combine – in the general interest – environmental, social and economic issues”.
