The first shareholder of Intesa SanPaolo, Compagnia Sp, has elected Sergio Chiamparino as successor to Angelo Benassia at the top of the company - The vice-president remains Luca Remmert - The management committee has also been appointed.

Compagnia SanPaolo has elected Sergio Chiamparino as new president. The general council of the first shareholder of Intesa SanPaolo – of which it holds 9,7% of the shareholdings - confirmed Luca Remmert as vice-president. The former mayor of Turin thus takes the place of the lawyer Angelo Benessia, who he had appointed himself in 2008. The board also appointed the management committee. In addition to the president Chiamparino and the vice-president Remmert, the committee will be composed of Patrizia Polliotto, Stefano Delle Piane, Gian Maria Gros-Pietro, Paolo Montalenti and Marco Mezzalama.

"I didn't accept this job because I'm looking for a springboard for my political career," said Chiamparino. “I am proud to be the president of one of the most important non-profit organizations in Europe and Italy, which due to an Italian anomaly, a happy anomaly, is also a shareholder of one of the most important banks".

At Piazza Affari by Intesa-San Paolo, around 17.15 pm earns 3,71% at 1,09 euros per share.
