Ambassador Nelli Feroci replaces Antonio Tajani, elected to the European Parliament on 25 May and who from today sits in the Strasbourg Assembly. President of the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI) since 4 July 2013, Ambassador Nelli Feroci, thanks to her experience and expertise in European and international affairs, has given a strong impetus to the consolidation and development of the activities of the IAI in the past year .

Its designation to the European Commission is also a recognition of the commitment and contribution of the IAI, since the Institute's origins, to promote and support European integration. A career diplomat from 1972 to 2013, Ambassador Nelli Feroci was Permanent Representative of Italy to the European Union in Brussels (2008-2013), Chief of Staff (2006-2008) and Director General for European Integration ( 2004-2006) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is the author of numerous articles and essays in the fields of international relations, European affairs and political science
