Ranking of the best EU countries to enjoy retirement: Italy in fifth place, Finland in the lead

Italy is the fifth best European country where to spend your retirement years. This is supported by the financial advisory group Blacktower, which has updated its annual report on retirement, revealing the best (and worst) European countries for retirement in 2022. The analysis uses weighted metrics related to cost of living, crime rate, life expectancy, property prices and age of the population.

The ranking reserves some surprises. In first position is Finland, while the silver medal goes to Spain and the bronze to Slovenia. Immediately outside the podium is Holland, while closing the top-5, as mentioned, is our country.

Followed, in order, by Denmark, Portugal, Estonia, Germany and Austria.

Here is the complete ranking.
