Cinema, the new film by Aldo Giovanni and Giacomo in the judgment of FIRST Arte

The comic trio returns to the big screen after years of hiatus and the film, signed by Massimo Venier, is all in all spot on and enjoyable.

Cinema, the new film by Aldo Giovanni and Giacomo in the judgment of FIRST Arte

The comedy trio is back on the big screen Aldo Giovanni and Giacomo, with a film signed by Massimo Venier with a vaguely out of season title: “I hate summer” can be considered the maturity film for the three actors now dated and veterans of over 20 years of great successes in the cinema. Talk about it FIRST Art, the cultural magazine of FIRSTonline, through the review of the film critic Patrizio Rossano: the film is promoted, despite the light screenplay and which resembles a 1996 work by Paolo Virzì a little too closely.

“Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo are guarantee of a “quiet” comedy, never vulgar or ungrammatical and always within the careful reading of national vices and virtues”, writes Rossano. “With this film they seem to have come to a crossroads of maturity after a long break from movie screens. In fact, in this work, they maintain the same figure as the other titles that made them famous (remember the trilogy also signed by Massimo Venier: Three men and a leg, Life is like this and Ask me if I'm happy) but there is a less breathless sense of having to entertain at all costs and a subtle melancholy vein also shines through very clearly (which will be fully evident at the end of the story) which was almost completely absent in the previous works".
