Chrysler: financing for 5 billion dollars, repayment of the debt with Veba

Chrysler communicated the regulation of financing operations for about five billion dollars to repay in full the debt to Veba Trust.

With this transaction, which comes "nine years before the debt expires, Fiat and Chrysler have together satisfied all the financial commitments that were undertaken for Chrysler in 2009," wrote CEO Sergio Marchionne in a note.

The transaction includes the issuance of senior guaranteed bonds for approximately three billion and senior guaranteed loans for approximately two billion. The savings in interest costs that the Fiat group expects to realize as a result of the refinancing operations amount to approximately 134 million a year for the period from 2014 to 2016.

About an hour after the opening, the stock on the Fia Stock Exchanget yields 0,6%.
