In July, Italian industrial production recorded a drop of 0,1% compared to the previous month, while it remained unchanged on an annual basis. This is what the Confindustria Study Center reveals in its latest rapid survey.
In the second quarter of 2014, according to the CSC, there was a drop in industrial production of 0,5% over the January-March period, while the cyclical change acquired for the third quarter was positive by 0,1%.
Order volumes in July recorded a decrease of 0,3% over June and 0,8% over the year. In June, on the other hand, there was an increase of +0,6% over May and +1,7% over twelve months.
“The qualitative indications do not yet show a greater vivacity in the summer months – underlines the Study Center -. In July, the confidence climate of manufacturing companies fell for the second consecutive month (-0,2 points in both months) with a worsening of assessments on production levels (balance to -21 from -20) and on orders (- 23 from -21), especially due to the drop in internal ones. Expectations for three months of production have improved (balance to 8 from 6) while those on orders have remained unchanged (balance to 9)”.
