Ignazio Visco reconfirmed at the helm of the Bank of Italy. The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, signed the decree of appointment at the head of the institute after the appointment by the Council of Ministers. At the government meeting, however, the Renzian ministers were absent: Luca Lotti (Sport), Maurizio Martina (Agriculture) and Graziano Delrio (Transport). The undersecretary to the Prime Minister, Maria Elena Boschi, was also missing.

According to the official version, ministers Lotti and Martina were absent due to previous commitments. Boschi and Del Rio because they are sick. However, the absence of the Renzi blockade is significant 10 days after the motion with which the Pd effectively disheartened Visco, indirectly asking for his replacement with a "more suitable" figure to rebuild trust in the Bank of Italy and improve the effectiveness of supervision.

During the CDM, Minister Dario Franceschini asked to accept the president's proposal without opening a debate. But at the end of the CDM the other ministers of the Democratic Party (with Franceschini also Andrea Orlando, Anna Finocchiaro, Roberta Pinotti and Marco Minniti) stopped for a long time to discuss with each other and a strong disappointment emerged for the choice of Renzian ministers not to participate At the meeting.
