In line with the 2018-2020 Business Plan, Cattolica continues its path of innovation by leveraging data and connectivity to build an ecosystem of benefits around its customers - The new product will be available from 1 May in Cattolica Group agencies within of the renewed Cattolica&Motori line.

Cattolica Assicurazioni focuses on technological innovation to ensure safety and protection behind the wheel. With the new Active Auto product, on the market from 1 May in Group agencies, a new latest generation self-installing device called Active box is available, to be placed on the windscreen of the car and to be connected to the Active App which can be easily accessed from a smartphone. A modern, agile product that can be easily installed by the user, which allows drivers in difficulty to receive help in real time, simply and effectively.

Protection, prevention and innovation are the basis of the new Active Auto product, especially designed for millennials and for users of metropolitan areas and which offers further advanced services that reward the driving style of the driver, in addition to the usual civil liability, fire and theft guarantees. The product was developed as part of a recent strategic partnership with a leading technology operator specializing in the provision of services for Connected Life.

Protection: Active Auto allows easy and immediate access to emergency services available 24 hours a day and to the whole world of assistance services. In the event of a serious accident, the sensor in the Active box is able to recognize the impact and alert the operations centre, which gets in touch with the driver. In the event of no response, the control unit automatically activates the emergency services, also requesting the intervention of an ambulance on the scene of the accident. The driver can also activate the services directly from the app or from the Active box: with a click, the customer can contact the operations center and request the intervention of a tow truck or consult the authorized Cattolica body shops closest to the location of the event. The protection also extends to cases of theft or robbery, because thanks to an innovative device – Active Security – it is possible to ensure greater defense and valid help in detecting the geolocation of the vehicle, with greater chances of finding your car. Furthermore, to be in line with the new forms of mobility of Italians, the innovative generation of Cattolica products also provides for the free extension of the driver's accident coverage and legal assistance even in the case of use of a third-party vehicle in the form of Car Sharing.

Prevention: the dedicated smartphone application – Active App – allows the customer to monitor his driving style thanks to a synthetic indicator (index of merit) attributed on the basis of certain parameters, including km traveled in a year on the road and time slot, compliance with speed, acceleration and deceleration limits. Active Auto then guarantees advantages already from the first year by reserving customers a 15% benefit on the RC rate. The most virtuous drivers receive a further discount of up to 15% on renewal, with a reduction in premium compared to the one paid the previous year. For those who also install Active Security, a 60% reduction in the theft guarantee is envisaged with the simultaneous zeroing of the overdraft. Furthermore, drivers in possession of cars already equipped with advanced safety systems – such as the automatic emergency braking system – will be able to enjoy a further 5% discount. Active App includes an ecosystem of customer benefits. For example, the app is able to provide information on weather conditions and incorporate reports of particularly dangerous road points, providing personalized information on the routes to be taken on Italian roads.

Innovation also in communication: for the Active Auto launch campaign, Cattolica relies on the notes of the talented deejay Albert Marzinotto, winner of the Top Deejay 2015 TV contest and author of the remix “Le Canzoni” by Jovanotti, who created the song “Need Help?” exclusively for the Group, a young music that serves as the background for three forthcoming commercials. Consistent with the objectives of the product offer, this communication strategy aims to satisfy, in form and content, the need for a modern and exciting language typical of a new large public. Cattolica Active Auto is the novelty of Cattolica&Motori, the line, completely renewed in terms of products, colors and naming, designed to meet the needs of all types of customers in the Car, Motorcycle, Commercial Vehicle, Agricultural Machinery and Boat segments, smart or more traditional.

  1. Not valid at all!!!!… The connection remains stable at 74%… Every move I make with the car I make sure to manually activate the app and it confirms that it is registering (it seems to me the usual trick designed to measure)… Almost certain online insurance! Greetings Luke
