Cattolica Assicurazioni announces that General Reinsurance AG, a company of the Berkshire Hathaway Group, the largest shareholder of the Company with 9,047%, has presented an application to become a shareholder of Cattolica Assicurazioni.

The request was accepted today by the Board of Directors meeting in Verona under the chairmanship of Paolo Bedoni. With this qualification, General Reinsurance AG also acquires non-pecuniary rights according to the provisions of the Articles of Association in force.

The company of Warren Buffett, the most skilful financier in the world, thus becomes a full shareholder and not just an investor in the insurance company led by Alberto Minali and will be able to aspire to join the board of directors at the next spring meeting. But above all, Buffett's move is a sign of appreciation for Cattolica's strategy and results which will likely attract other investors.
