Cassation, Berlusconi, Veronica: no discounts

Cassation, Berlusconi, Veronica: no discounts

Silvio Berlusconi "He's one of the richest men in the world" and the difference in his income compared to that of his wife Veronica Lario is "significant": for this reason the Cassation confirmed the check of two million euros a month in favor of Lario. The supreme judges rejected the appeal of the leader of Forza Italia against the maxi check, noting that the separation "does not elide the permanence of the marital bond" and the duty of assistance guaranteeing the previous standard of living.

Differently from the phase of divorce, when the duties of conjugal solidarity "cease", in separation cases, the wealthier ex-spouse "still has the duty to guarantee the separated partner the same standard of living as in marriage", underlines the Cassation in the reasons for the sentence on the separation between Silvio Berlusconi and Veronica Lario, with confirmation of the two million monthly check for the woman. The verdict refers to the recent divorce ruling which has sent living standards into the attic, saying it does not apply to separations.
