Casa d'Aste il Ponte offers six luminous sculptures by Catellani

During the week of the Salone del Mobile, the Il Ponte Auction House in Milan offers, in an Italian exclusive, six luminous sculptures by Enzo Catellani which will be auctioned in the section dedicated to Modern Art in the headquarters in Via Pitteri 10, in the heart of the Outside the Salon.

Casa d'Aste il Ponte offers six luminous sculptures by Catellani

These are light resin discs made by hand and covered in gold leaf, with a diameter of about 80 cm, numbered and signed by the author. Suspended from the ceiling and illuminated by a 1 watt micro Led, thanks to a slow oscillation, they are able to generate a suggestive luminous vibration.

Each sculpture, in its organic uniqueness, represents a valid synthesis between decorative art and design. The six luminous sculptures come from the scenography designed by Enzo Catellani for Alma Mater, the icono-sound installation by the artist Yuval Avital which, in dialogue with the Third Paradise by Michelangelo Pistoletto, was set up in the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan in the summer 2015.
The proceeds from the sale will go to support future projects of the Milanese factory of creativity and excellence Magà Global Arts.

In addition to the works by Catellani, ceramics from the 900s, Murano glass, lamps and furnishings made between the beginning and the 90s will be offered. In the rich collection of over 900 lots, objects by Franco Albini and Franca Helg, Luigi Caccia Dominioni, Vico Magistretti, Verner Panton, Gio Ponti, Carlo Scarpa, Claudio Salocchi, Ettore Zaccari, Marco Zanuso and many others.
