Contrary to what was announced yesterday, the placement of Carige shares by the Foundation stopped at approximately 10,96% of the capital, or 238,24 million ordinary shares of the Genoese institute. This was communicated by Banca IMI and Credit Suisse, joint bookrunners of the operation. The shares were placed at a price of 0,40 euro each, for a total proceeds of 95,296 million euros.
Both the placement and the price were, therefore, decidedly lower than expected. The Carige Foundation, in fact, had only announced its intention to sell 15% of the bank's capital yesterday evening and had set the price in a range between 0,435 and 0,48 euros.
In the meantime, the Carige stock continues in the collapse that started today and, in the late morning, sold more than 15% in Piazza Affari at 0,4238 euro per share, a price in any case higher than that of the placement carried out from the Foundation.
