Chaos Figc: Tavecchio stays, via Ventura

It's official: Ventura is no longer the blue coach, after the incredible flop against Sweden – The president of the Football Federation, Carlo Tavecchio, remains in his position for now.

Chaos Figc: Tavecchio stays, via Ventura

"We have to be good at exploiting this negative situation to re-found the entire movement", said the Minister of Sport Luca Lotti before the summit at the Federcalcio, during which some would have expected the resignation of the president Carlo Tavecchio, after the debacle of not qualifying of the national team at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Instead, there were no resignations: instead there was officially the exemption of Gian Piero Ventura as technical commissioner (the coach was negotiating the severance pay of 700-800 thousand euros), and the other news that emerged from the meeting, which was attended by all the leaders of Italian football, is precisely that Tavecchio remains in his post for now.

The news was first given by the President of the Italian Footballers' Association, Damiano Tommaso, who came out before the end of the meeting: "Carlo Tavecchio informed us that he does not intend to resign from the presidency of the FIGC: we think that we cannot fail to restart from the elections" . Confirmation came from a press release from the FIGC, which reiterates that Tavecchio is "unavailable to resign". On the total appointment of the new coach, the president of the coaches Renzo Ulivieri opened up on the Ancelotti hypothesis, however suggesting that he is not on the table for now: "It would be the easiest solution if it were possible, but we don't necessarily have to be linked to the great first name. Great esteem for Carlo, but at this moment we cannot be tied to a choice of this type. We need to think about it carefully and deepen each discussion”.
