Stock exchanges regain tone in the afternoon. The Ftse/Mib index rebounds +0,81%, also supported by the surprise improvement in the index of consumer confidence of the Bel Paese: 96,8, much better than the forecasts of 93,5. The Paris index also rose +0,71% and the London Footsie +0,91%. The Dax of Frankfurt leads the race: +1,31% driven by the improvement of the Ifo, the confidence index, from across the Rhine.

The German chancellor has given Germany's consent to combine the 200 billion in funds on which the ESF temporary rescue fund has already pledged, with the 500 billion of its permanent successor, the ESM state-saving fund which should become operational this summer.

US government bonds reduced losses after statements by Fed chairman, Ben Bernanke, who spoke of weakness in the labor market and the economy, triggering expectations of further easing of monetary policy.

Wall Street opened higher with the S&P index rising 0,4%, the Dow Jones gaining 0,4%, the Nasdaq gaining 0,7%. In Europe, car stocks are running, with the sector index up by 1,7 followed by chemical stocks (+1,6%) and the oil&gas sector (+1,3%). In the meantime, the banks reduce losses: Intesa -1,9%, Pop. Milan -0,7%, Unicredit and Monte Paschi bucking the trend at +0,1% and +0,3% on the hypothesis, for the second, of the sale of 60% of Biverbanca. Among the insurance companies, Generali gains 0,08%.

Enel Green Power remains positive, up 0,35%. After the new business plan presented on Friday, the French broker Natixis has raised the recommendation to buy.
