Cambi, Design auction in favor of research for the Covid-19

Cambi, Design auction in favor of research for the Covid-19

In collaboration with the Milanese creative duo Annalisa Rosso and Francesco Maiardi of Mr. Lawrence, Cambi presents the online charity auction Design Loves Milano.

Design Loves Milano brings together an incredible range of internationally renowned designers and studios such as Fernando and Humberto Campana, Formafantasma, Roberto Sironi, Muller Van Severen, Analogia Project, Dimore Milano, Faye Toogood and Hongjie Yang just to name a few.

This careful selection led by Mr Lawrence will see each of them participate in the initiative by donating one or more of their one-of-a-kind, limited-edition or collectible design pieces, which will be auctioned in May.
The Milanese collage artist and art director Alvvino contributed to Design Loves Milano with an illustration of the main architectural and design landmarks of the city, which tell the identity of the project. Alvvino's illustration will also be included in the auction.

This international partnership will donate the proceeds from the Design Loves Milano charity auction to the ASST. (Territorial Social Health Authority) Fatebenefratelli of the Luigi Sacco Hospital in Milan.

The association was chosen as the beneficiary of the Design Loves Milano clarity due to its present and future effort to ensure the recovery of the city of Milan, one of the Italian cities most severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Matteo Cambi, President and CEO of Cambi Casa d'Aste, states: “We are enthusiastically working on this extraordinary project. Milan is the cradle of design, its children are scattered around the world and it is incredible to see how many designers and professionals in the sector are mobilizing to help the city. We like to think that the great designers of the present and the past, symbols of Milan on an international level, can come together in this solidarity operation that will not only be aimed at the city but at all of us. The donations will in fact go towards the research that the Sacco Hospital is carrying out to find a vaccine for Covid-19 and serum for the immunological test".

Within an innovative only digital version of the catalog of lots for sale, Cambi asked the participating designers to explain the motivation behind the donated piece and their relationship with the city of Milan.
Il catalog will be available on the website www.cambiaste.com from the end of April, while the online auction will take place on May 12, 2020.
