Caio: "Poste Italiane, great interest in the IPO"

The landing of Poste Italiane in Piazza Affari sparked the general interest of the markets. To say it is Francesco Caio, new CEO of the company controlled by the Treasury: "We are working closely with the government to define the process (of privatization), but to date I have no information to communicate". Although the process that will lead Poste Italiane to be listed on the Stock Exchange has not yet been defined, for Caio "everyone's interest in privatization is very clear".

Last May 16, the government approved the decrees which set the criteria for the sale of 40% of Poste Italiane and 49% of Enav and the executive seems to aim to conclude the privatizations by 2014, even if, on this point Caius proved to be more prudent.

Meanwhile, there is already talk of the future global coordinators of the IPO which, according to press rumors, will be Citi, BofA Merrill Lynch and Mediobanca.
