Brazil, Dilma at risk of impeachment

Dilma Rousseff at risk of impeachment. Brazil's Court of Auditors ruled that the President altered the 2014 public budget to hide the growing deficit. In response, the justice minister immediately announced an appeal to the Supreme Court against the Court of Auditors' decision to reject a budget for the first time in 80 years.

The move by the accounting judges is not immediately binding, but it could be used by the opposition to open a new front against Rousseff, already greatly weakened by the difficulties the Brazilian economy is going through and by the Petrobras scandal, the bribe ring worth over 2 billion of dollars that the state oil giant allegedly distributed to some members of the Workers' Party (led by the President).
