Banca Popolare di Milano has not received any request from the ECB to modify its business plan and reiterates the correctness of the merger process with Banco Popolare. The institute writes it in a statement released to deny an article in Il Sole 24 Ore.
"The Bank, in firmly distancing itself from the insinuations made in the article - reads the note -, reaffirms the full formal and substantial correctness of the process that led to the approval of the merger project by the Extraordinary Shareholders' Meetings of the two banks last October 15".
Furthermore, "it is confirmed that, even following the outcome of the most recent discussions with the Supervisory Authorities - continues Bpm - no requests to amend the Business Plan, which was the basis for the release of the authorizations for the merger, emerged assumptions and forecasts also regarding the amount of non-performing loans and related coverage therefore remain substantially confirmed. The Bank reserves the right to take suitable initiatives to protect its interests".
Previously, too Banco Popolare had published a similar note.
