Question and answer Merkel-Rousseff on the crisis

It is a crisis for everyone and everyone responds in their own way. But a spat arose between the two ministers. Brazilian Prime Minister Dilma Rousseff and German Chancellor Angela Merkel do not agree on the response of rich countries to the global financial crisis. The Latin American president, guest at the inauguration of the Cebit high tech fair in Hanover, expressed strong concern for “monetary expansion in Europe and the United States” resulting from "artificial devaluation of currency", a measure that significantly weakens the Brazilian export market.

Merkel responded to Dilma Rousseff reminding her that if Brazil fears the "monetary tsunami", Germany is frightened by the protectionist measures of the green-gold giant. “We will talk about the crisis and everyone's concerns,” said the German chancellor, “The president spoke of a liquidity tsunami, we fear protectionist measures. We need to be able to trust each other and be based on fair trading conditions”.
