Stock Exchange: Unipol, Fonsai and Milan fly on the wings of Finsoe

Glorious day in Piazza Affari for Fonsai, Unipol and Milano Assicurazioni. About an hour and a half after the start of trading, the three companies that will soon merge with Premafin to create a new insurance giant, gain 10,66%, 9,51% and 6,37% respectively.

Yesterday evening Standard & Poor's decided to keep the Bologna-based company's ratings at Watch negative. However, today's increases are linked to the words of the president of Finsoe, Marco Pedroni, which in an interview with Repubblica revealed that the cooperative enterprises plan to allocate 300-350 million euros to the Unipol capital increase in the framework of the integration with Fondiaria-Sai.

“A rough estimate – said Pedroni – foresees a direct commitment for the cooperative enterprises between 300 and 350 million for the capital increase. Finsoe has its own resources which will cover the investment up to 450-500 million”.

Finsoe, the financial holding company of the coops, is the majority shareholder of Unipol, which is why its green light represents “a signal that the operation will be able to start – commented a trader. Evidently the market is looking more to the synergies that this operation will entail than to the capital increase”.
