The share of Saipem falls again, which in the late morning loses more than 4% in Piazza Affari, signaling itself as the black jersey of the Italian list. The value of the shares of the plant engineering company of the Eni group returned to the levels of 2004 (8,27 euro).
Basically three factors are sinking Saipem's quotations. The first is the freezing of the sale decided by Eni due to the negative market conditions (the value of the Saipem asset in fact decreased much later the farewell announced by Russia to the South Stream project).
The lack of sales also fuels the second factor that weighs on the stock today, ie the hypothesis of a capital increase, naturally unwelcome to the market.
The third factor, however, is the fine of 80 thousand euros imposed by Consob to the company in relation to the communication on the profit warning of January 29, 2013. On that occasion, Saipem had disclosed to the market the revision of the forecasts on the 2012 results and the forecasts on the revenues and results for 2013.
The sanction came "for not having communicated without delay to the public the privileged information contained in the press release and the significant deviations of the estimates relating to the preliminary data for 2012, compared to the data previously made public".
Twenty-four hours before the announcement, Blackrock had sold its 2,3% stake in the company. In the first instance, the Court of Appeal rejected the company's appeal for the annulment of the Consob resolution.
