After the problematic departure of the bike bonus 2020, November 9th is the day of the internet, pc and tablet bonus which makes available to families with an ISEE of less than 20 thousand euros up to 500 euros to spend for the activation of ultra-broadband connections and for the simultaneous purchase of IT devices.
INTERNET BONUS, PC AND TABLET: WHO CAN REQUEST IT
According to Infratel's calculations, there would be 2,2 million families with the credentials to receive the bonus. But be careful with the funds: the Government has put on the plate only 204 million euros which will be enough for just over 400 thousand users. It will therefore be the families who will be able to take advantage of the vouchers request first. In fact, in satisfying the questions the temporal criterion will be followed.
The bonus, as mentioned, is reserved for families with an ISEE of less than 20 thousand euros a year who do not have a connectivity contract at the time of submitting the request or who have an internet connection at home with a download speed of less than 30 Mbps (Megabits per second). On the other hand, families who already have an ultra-broadband connection at home are excluded, for which there is therefore not even the possibility of making an upgrade to increase the speed.
In Emilia-Romagna, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Liguria, Tuscany, and at the explicit request of these regions, the measure will only be applicable to users located in some municipalities.
BONUS INTERNET, PC AND TABLET: HOW IT WORKS
The 500 euros that will arrive via vouchers can be used in the form of a discount granted by resellers for the purchase of a connection with a minimum download speed of 30 Mbps for at least 1 year. If, during the reference period of the contract, the user decides to change operator, he will be able to use the remainder of the bonus with the new provider.
There is also another limit: the user is forced to choose the fastest connection among those available in his area. Taking a practical example, if the property is served by both a FTTH connection (Fiber to the Home) that from an Fttc (Fiber to the cabinet), he will necessarily have to choose the first one, even if it is more expensive.
Once the ultra-broadband connection contract has been signed, the remainder can be used to buy PCs or tablets supplied by the telephone operators themselves. The bonus will not be valid if the devices are purchased from large retailers or resellers other than telephone providers.
It should be emphasized that the purchase of PCs and tablets is only contextual to the signing of the internet contract. Namely: no fiber, nothing device.
According to the instructions provided by Infratel "a sum between 12 and 200 euros can be allocated to the discount on connectivity services for a period of no less than 400 months". On the other hand, the discount on PCs or tablets can go between 100 and 300 euros.
BONUS INTERNET, PC AND TABLET: HOW TO APPLY
Applications can be submitted until 1 October 2021 at any point of sale of one of the telephone operators subscribed to the Infratel Italia portal dedicated to the bonus.
To submit the request, a copy of the identity document and a substitute declaration certifying the income level of the family unit will be needed. It will also be necessary to certify that no member of the same nucleus has already used the bonus.
It will be up to the telephone operator to enter the data in the Infratel portal and specify the chosen connection and the type of tablet or computer purchased.
