Bonus 2018: how it works for gas, electricity and water

Le rates rise and inflate bills, but discounts are available for low-income families. THE bonus to know are three: in addition to those on light e gas, there is that too water.

In all three cases, families with an Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator (Isee) lower than 8.107,50 €, limit that rises to 20mila euros if you have more than three dependent children. Holders of Carta Acquisti or of ReI card.

The requests must all be presented together with the Municipality of residence, or with the Cafs delegated by it.

Il water bonus guarantees a discount on the bill equal to the cost of 18,25 cubic meters per year (equivalent to 50 liters per day, i.e. the minimum quantity required by law for personal needs) for each member of the household.

As for the gas bonus, the amount of the reduction varies according to the category of use associated with the gas supply, the climatic zone and the number of family members. The Energy Authority makes available an online service to calculate the value of the bonus.

The matter is simpler regarding the electric bonus. In this case, the size of the discount depends only on the number of members of the registered family, but is updated every year by the Authority. In 2018, families of 1-2 members will be able to count on a reduction of 125 euros, which rises to 153 for families with three or four people. Even larger families will instead get a discount of 184 euros.

All bonuses will be deducted directly from the bills to those who have a direct contract, i.e. a individual plant. Each bill shows a part of the bonus proportional to the period to which the bill refers. This is the only mode provided for the electricity bonus.

Indirect users who have a centralized systemon the other hand, they will receive the water bonus in a single solution from the service managers in the manner identified by them (for example through a bank transfer to a current account or a non-transferable bank draft). The gas bonus, on the other hand, will arrive by bank transfer: the account holder will therefore have to go to a post office with an identity document and the tax code to collect the sum due to him.
