The president of Telecom Italia, speaking on the sidelines of the Ambrosetti workshop at Villa d'Este in Cernobbio, specifies that his group first of all needs an industrial project and only then a new partner - Then he invites us not to be afraid of investors abroad, recalling the successful case of General Electrics in Nuovo Pignone.

Bernabè: "Telecom Italia needs an industrial project before a new partner"

Definitely not a financial partner (“we have already given”), perhaps an industrial partner, but “first of all an industrial project”. Telecom Italia needs this now according to its president, Franco Bernabe, present at the Villa d'Este appointment in Cernobbio for the Ambrosetti workshop.

“The idea of the need for an industrial shareholder has had its day: it is not so much an industrial shareholder that is needed as a project in which Telecom has equal dignity”.

"Above all - added the manager of the first Italian telecommunications company - we must not be afraid of foreign investors: the example of Nuovo Pignone, sold by Eni in the early 90s to General Electrics who fully relaunched it with great satisfaction of Italian work and skills. That is a virtuous example and a successful case of this type of operation".

And so, while Sawiris is still at the window and in Telco pushes himself to track down Telefonica, Bernabè also explained that "the Telecom affair it is not the responsibility of the government because politics has already made its choices twenty years ago by opting for the privatization of the company, which is now on the market and therefore a possible government crisis would have no influence on the next steps”.
