Berlusconi: “A year of Monti? disastrous data”

The unleashed Knight: "There is a policy imposed by Europe, with German hegemony that does not think of the good of all but of itself" - "I think my step backwards could be decisive for Casini to return to the centre-right" - “70% of Italians are disgusted by this policy”.

Berlusconi: “A year of Monti? disastrous data”

From the allusive joke to the broadside against the Government, passing through the now usual anti-German invective. And yet the future electoral alliances, the results of the homemade polls and, of course, the beloved "game" of the ball. Which has been giving him some displeasure lately. At Milanello, where he met the Rossoneri today, Silvio Berlusconi covers the entire repertoire. Political and otherwise.

In the first place, the great maneuvers between Palazzo Chigi and the Bundestag: “I have already taken three steps backwards – the Knight complains to journalists -. Now what worries me are the data after a year of technical governance, which are disastrous. There is a policy imposed by Europe, with the German hegemony that does not think of the good of all but of itself. I think this is a trend that needs to be reversed."

In fact, since Mario Monti has governed, the main majority party in Parliament has always remained the Pdl. Why not take away the trust of the technicians, if they are so "disastrous"? Berlusconi dodges the trap and passes the ball to Angelino Alfano: "It is our secretary who expresses himself in this regard".

Then, the umpteenth advance to the UDC leader: “I don't think that Casini wants to represent himself as an absolute 'missing word' towards the Italians – continues the former Premier – and therefore I believe that my step backwards could be a decisive fact for him to declare himself and commit himself to being part of the centre-right".

And what about the next candidate for the Lombardy Region: Albertini or Maroni? The Knight does not name names, but hopes "a single candidate of the PDL and the League." Same Solomonic position also on the much mentioned Monti-bis: "It is he who must decide what to do, we must ask him".

Thus we arrive at one of the strong points: the percentages. Subject of the study, the relationship between citizens and politics. “We have a dramatic situation from the point of view of consensus. The Sicilian elections confirmed what all the polls said, that is that 70% of Italians are disgusted by this policy, by these parties and by these protagonists” . We must therefore “have the courage to change. Let's see what can be done between now and election day”.

Something else will have to be done to improve Milan's fortunes. Berlusconi also feels this urgency, and announces that he intends to "joyfully return" to take care "closely of the team, together with Galliani, Allegri and Tassotti".

Finally, to close on a high note, a wink to the ladies present could not be missing. “This morning I did 72 push-ups, not a few for someone my age, 56 years old (he's 76, ed). But I feel 35 years old – she says, addressing two reporters-. I am also willing to try it…".
