Gasoline, distributors' strike confirmed for 4 and 5 August, skips the stop on 3

The petrol station strike for Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 August is confirmed. On the other hand, Friday 3 August is excluded. "At the end of this morning's hearing - the operators' organizations Faib Confesercenti, Fegica Cisl and Figisc/Anisa Confcommercio communicate in a note - the Guarantee Commission for the strike in public services confirmed the full legitimacy of the proclamation of the closure of the plants of refueling for next Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th August. For their part, the trade unions have taken note and adhered to the Authority's request to exclude the day of August 3 from the proclamation, thus reducing the protest by one day compared to the intentions initially communicated". The closure will affect all plants, both on the ordinary network and on the motorway (for the latter in the manner that will be communicated shortly) and will begin at midnight between 3 and 4 August.

"During the hearing - the organizations again point out - Faib, Fegica and Figisc/Anisa were able to illustrate in detail the reasons for the profound and dramatic unease experienced by an entire category which ensures, for various reasons, 120 jobs, as well as an essential and widespread service to the community, jeopardized by the commercial and price policies of the oil industry which penalize workers and consumers. The Commission, for its part, was keen to reaffirm its commitment to activate any initiative falling within its prerogatives, including vis-à-vis the Government, aimed at cooling down and leading to a positive conclusion of the dispute, inviting the trade organizations to defer the proclamation of the strike in the face of an effective commitment by the Authority to convene the oil companies as required by law 196/90”.

Tomorrow at 18.00 the Ministry of Economic Development will meet Unione Petrolifera, independent network operators and managers. The Authority, the organizations underline, "has the task of identifying and adopting concrete measures that ensure the immediate restoration of balanced industrial behaviour, no longer unjustifiably violent and, above all, respectful of the legislation in force".
