Bedeschi: "Together against inequality the best parts of left and right"

In an original analysis that appeared today in the "Corriere della Sera" Giuseppe Bedeschi writes that to overcome social inequalities it is first of all necessary to create growth but that both the right and the left are divided internally: for this it would be necessary to unite the best of the right and of the left.

Bedeschi: "Together against inequality the best parts of left and right"

If the scandal of social inequalities should lead to placing a policy worthy of the name at the top of the priorities, to defeat inequality not only in words it is first of all necessary to generate economic growth. But on this both the right and the left speak different and contradictory languages. This is what the historian of philosophy Giuseppe Bedeschi claims in today's "Corriere della Sera" which significantly is entitled "Together against inequality the best parts of left and right".

Good will is not enough to push economic growth but – notes Bedeschi – “we need to break the vetoes of privileged groups and corporations clinging to their positions of income”. After all, in order to grow, it would be necessary to significantly reduce taxes on labor and companies, but to finance the tax cut, it would be necessary to cut unproductive public spending: but where and from whom do we start?

"It is necessary to reduce the excessive bonus - explains Bedeschi - which, in Italy today, goes to seniority: in school, in justice, in public administration, one progresses in the career not by merit but by seniority and this anti-democratic criterion seriously blocks mobility social and gave birth to a closed and corporative society like ours”.

This is why to unhinge the conservative bloc it would be necessary to unite the best and thinking forces of right and left.
