The sector in Italy continues to grow, also driven by online tourism, which in 2012 saw its turnover increase by 14% to 4,4 billion euros – there are 20.030 bed & breakfasts compared to 36.659 hotels.

Bed & breakfasts in Italy are growing more and more, and they do so also thanks to the online tourism. Indeed, in a sector such as online tourism – whose turnover in 2012 grew by 14% over the previous year, with a turnover of 4,4 billion euros – the so-called “landlords” continue to grow in number and importance.

According l 'National Tourism Observatory, there are 20.030 houses used as bed & breakfasts in Italy, compared to 36.659 hotels. Twenty thousand structures scattered among large cities and tourist resorts of all kinds, increasingly appreciated by families with children for their comfort, simplicity and affordable price.

But also by those who, and this has always been the added value of the formula, want to get to know a place not only through visits to monuments and places of interest, but through "coexistence" with those who rent one or more rooms of their home to tourists passing. Tourists who, as mentioned, don't lose sight of their wallets, considering the prices of the b & b usually lower than those of the hotels.
