Ultra fast fiber arrives in Bari. in 40 construction sites a day". These are the numbers reported in the Open Fiber note announcing the conclusion of the cabling works and outlining the contours of the fully optical fiber network that the company led by Elisabetta Ripa has built in Bari with the support of the Municipality. In total, 2 real estate units were covered.
In the press conference following the meeting between Ripa and the mayor of the Apulian capital, Antonio Decaro, the balance sheet of an intervention started almost 3 years ago and now concluded was drawn up.
The conclusion of the construction sites initiates phase 2: the agreement between the Municipality and Open Fiber makes it possible to implement, encourage and make all those high-tech services with an impact on the population increasingly efficient, aimed at transforming the city into a real smart cities. Another objective will be to ensure the same access opportunities in all areas of the city, from the center to the suburbs. Referring precisely to the less central areas of the capital, two further initiatives promoted by the Municipality and Open Fiber: the creation of some wi-fi access points on the renovated seafront of San Girolamo and a contest reserved for writers for the creation of a mural on the theme of digitization. Because in Bari you travel at the same speed, from San Girolamo to via Sparano.
Open Fiber is proud to launch the second phase of its intervention in Bari. This happens - declared the CEO of Open Fiber, Elisabetta Ripa - after the achievement of the planned coverage objectives, in agreement with the municipal administration which was always by our side from the start of the works. Now it is possible to activate Smart City services for the benefit of all citizens. In fact, optical fiber is an enabling factor for transforming high-definition video surveillance, intelligent waste collection management, telemedicine and all those services that human ingenuity will reserve for us in the future into daily reality. Bari, thanks to this intervention, is therefore a candidate to be one of the main Smart Cities in the Mediterranean
