Bars, restaurants and hairdressers will be the last to reopen: here's how

Bars, restaurants and hairdressers will be the last to reopen: here's how

No one knows yet whether bars and restaurants, hairdressers and beauticians will open on Monday 4 May or later but what is certain is that they will be the last to reopen because in those places the risk of contagion is more subtle. The difficulties of maintaining safety distances are greater and for smaller venues almost prohibitive.

Those who take care of people – barbers and beauticians – will be able to work only by appointment to respect the ratio of only one customer per worker. And of course wear gloves and masks strictly. It is not excluded that those who do not have their own premises but have to pay high rents will end up out of the market, also because the clientele will be more rarefied.

The rules that will govern it are also very strict reopening, still far away, of bars and restaurants, some of whom are trying to deal with the emergency for now by falling back on home deliveries. It will have to be on bar counters the distance of at least one meter between merchants and customers is always guaranteed, while in the halls of restaurants the distance between the tables must be at least two metres to allow the safe passage of the waiters. Here too, for smaller venues and smaller trattorias, the difficulty of remaining on the field promises to be very great and closures will be the order of the day. But in this field, reconciling health and business is really very, very difficult.
