In September, loans to households increased by 0,4% year on year while those to non-financial companies fell by 0,9%. He writes it Bankitalia in its latest monthly bulletin, specifying that in general loans to the private sector fell by 0,5%.

I interest rates on loans disbursed in the month to households for the purchase of homes, including ancillary costs, were equal to 2,92% against the 3,04% recorded in August. The rates on new consumer credit disbursements, on the other hand, stood at 8,23%, down very slightly from 8,24% in August.

Yields on new loans to non-financial corporations of up to €1 million were 2,82% from 2,99% in August, while those on new loans above this threshold 1,26% (1,35% in August). Deposit rates on all outstanding deposits remained stable at 0,56%.

On the other hand, the annual growth rate slows down bank bad debts which, again according to Bank of Italy, stood at 13,5% in September, from 14,2% in August.
