Banks in braking, stock exchanges retreat

The auction of BTPs maturing in May 2016 was successful (the yield slipped below 2%) – But Italian bank stocks continue to suffer and weigh like ballast on Piazza Affari, which is negative like the other European stock exchanges – Telecom Italia loses: no news on the merger with Tre – Sale Pirelli on the day of the meeting

BTP 3 AT AUCTION FALL BELOW 2%

Il Italian treasure it placed all the 8 billion euro of government bonds at auction with declining yields: the BTPs maturing in May 2016 were placed with a yield of 1,92% (2,39% in the previous auction); the 1500 million Btp maturing in March 2026 were placed at 4,07% (4,55%); finally, 3 billion CCTEU November 2018 at 2,44% (2,74%).

On the secondary market the Btp to 10 years on the secondary it yields 3,93% (+5 basis points), the Bund 1,35% (-3 basis points), the spread is at 258.

Meanwhile, Piazza Affari is declining like the other lists: the clue FtseMib it loses 0,54% to 17.190. London -0,22%, Paris -0,29% and Frankfurt -0,36% also fell.

Banks down: Unicredit -0,87%, Intesa-0.93%. Mps is down by 2,84%, Banca Popolare down by 1,24%. Ubi -1,29%. Banca Popolare dell'Emilia Romagna also down on the eve of the quarterly report - 2,01%: tomorrow the bank based in Modena presents the data for the quarter.

Banca Popolare di Milano loses 1%: the management board of the popular Milanese company removed the transformation into a joint stock company from the agenda of the meeting of 22 June.

Among insurance, Generali lost 1,37% Fondiaria 2,84%.

Telecom Italy loses 1,16%: no news on the issue of the spin-off of the network and the merger project with Tre. The company was fined by the Antitrust with a fine of 104 million euros for abuse of a dominant position.

Also flexing Eni -0,22% (18,58 euros), despite Deutsche Bank raising the target price to 22 euros from 21 euros and confirming the buy opinion. Enel drops by 0,61%.

Among industrial stocks, Fiat -0,12% Fiat Industrial -0,9% Finmeccanica -0,73%, StM -2,5%.

In the spotlight there Tronchetti galaxy.

Pirelli +1,16%, today at the shareholders' meeting, is up by 0,1%, while Camfin is up by 6%. The tire maker announced on Friday that Vittorio Malacalza has resigned from the board of directors. Mediaset runs, up 1,5%.
