Banca Imi, profit soars by 20%: "Best year in our history"

Imi Bank archive a 2018 to be framed. In fact, the year closed with a Net income consolidated equal to 803 million euro, an increase of 19,7% compared to 671 million in the same period of the previous year. The figure, underlines the bank, is "the highest achieved in the history" of the institution chaired by Gaetano Micciché.

As regards the other financial parameters, the intermediation margin reached 1,7 billion, an increase of 7,2% compared to 2017, while the result of the operation management recorded an increase of 9,8% to 1,2 billion euro.

In operating costs they grew by 0,9% to 465 million euros, per a report cost/income improving to 27,7%.

I own funds for supervisory purposes as at 31 December 2018 they amounted to 4,278 billion (3,650 billion as at 30 September 2018), "already taking into account the portion of profit allocated to reserves in the desire to strengthen Banca IMI's capital". "In their determination - explains the press release - we have made use, in line with the approach adopted by the Intesa Sanpaolo group, of the option to mitigate the impact of the introduction of IFRS 9 for the impairment portion accounted for at the 'first time adoption of the new standard”. The Total Capital Ratio thus determined is 14,2% both with and without the transitional model to mitigate the FTA IFRS9 effects, while the Cet1 ratio it settled at 10,2%, "including the share of 2018 profit allocated to reserves", specifies the bank.

The results were driven by the trend in revenues, characterized by a robust level of net interest and by constant growth in the year in customer commissions, thanks to the important structured finance and investment banking transactions”.
