A holding company under control and under a consortium to which more than half of the employees in Italy will be assigned, currently around 1.500 units: this is the plan presented by Axa for the reorganization of activities in Italy. The number one in Italy of the French group shareholder of MPS, Frederic De Curtois, presented the terms of the project two days ago, which will be operational in the coming months. The group wants to rationalize its activities which it cannot, however, merge: on the one hand Axa Assicurazioni and on the other the joint venture Axa-Mps which it controls even if it has a 50% stake.
Company branches will be transferred to the consortium by the two entities for a total of 800 employees. Concern among the unions for the corporate structure of the consortium, despite the reassurances of the transalpine summit on the stability of employment levels. The procedure envisaged by the national insurance contract on corporate reorganization will soon begin.
