Cars: Nissan-Renault-Mitsubishi new world leader

The global car market has a new master. This is the Nissan-Renault-Mitsubishi group, which in the first half of the year sold more cars than the Volkswagen group, undermining the German giant from the top of the world rankings.

According to the latest surveys published by Nissan-Renault-Mitsubishi, between January and June of this year, registrations reached 5,27 million, for a growth of 7% on an annual basis. The result is positive for all the brands of the group: from Renault to Nissan, from Mitsubishi to Dacia, up to the Russian Lada.

Volkswagen, on the other hand, did not go beyond the 5,16 million cars sold, with a much more modest increase, equal to 0,7%.

Last October Nissan – a Renault ally since 1999 – took over 34% of Mitsubishi (which brings about one million vehicles a year as a dowry), giving life to a group capable of producing 10 million cars a year. The acceleration in turnover was mainly concentrated in China, the world's leading car market.
