Atac, Antitrust fine of 3,6 million for canceled rides

The fine concerns the incorrect behavior of the company on the Rome-Lido di Ostia, Rome-Civita Castellana-Viterbo (the two most important Italian commuter routes) and Rome-Giardinetti-Pantano routes, which overall affect over 200 thousand users every day.

Atac, Antitrust fine of 3,6 million for canceled rides

The Antitrust has fined Atac, the municipal public transport company in Rome, for having canceled several journeys without informing consumers. The amount of the fine is 3,6 million euros.

At the end of the investigation launched last November, the Competition and Market Authority ascertained an unfair commercial practice "consisting in the false presentation of a frequent and conspicuous offer of transport services - reads the Antitrust note - in the face of the systematic and persistent cancellation of many scheduled trips, as well as the failure to inform consumers in advance about the planned cancellations".

Specifically, the service at the center of the AGCM investigation concerns the Rome-Lido di Ostia, Rome-Civita Castellana-Viterbo (the two most important Italian commuter routes) and Rome-Giardinetti-Pantano, which overall affect every day over 200 thousand users.
