Btp auction: demand ok, rates slightly up

However, the Treasury has placed the entire amount offered on the market, i.e. 7,5 billion euros between 3, 7 and 15-year BTPs – Already over one billion for the new BTP Italia, on offer between today and Wednesday.

Rates on the rise but demand sustained at the auction held this morning by the Treasury, which placed the maximum expected amount of Btp with maturities of 3, 7 and 15 years. The total amount is seven and a half billion euros.

On expiry a three years the yield rose to 0,23% from 0,15% in the previous auction, with 2,5 billion placed and a cover bid ratio down to 1,56 from 1,88 in the previous placement.

For the deadline a seven years (reopening of the security maturing in April 2022), yield slightly up to 0,89% from 0,71% in the previous month. The ratio between supply and demand was stable at 1,47.

Finally, the Treasury placed a BTP with a maturity date of 15 years with an amount of 1,5 billion and a yield of 1,64%.

Today is also the first day of subscriptions for the BTP Italy eight years and shortly after 11 am the amount subscribed exceeded 1,15 billion euro. The offer will end on Wednesday, unless it closes early on the second day.
