Apple, Buffett doubles its share

Buffett bought Apple shares for the first time last May, taking advantage of a stock at its two-year low: now the stock is at an all-time high and according to the owner of the investment company Berkshire Hathaway, Cupertino's capitalization could reach 1.000 billion.

US financier Warren Buffett has more than doubled the number of Apple shares held in the portfolio in early 2017, and that is shortly before the title of the Cupertino company scored a rally on Wall Street up to the historical highs of the last few days. Yesterday, the owner of the investment company Berkshire Hathaway provided more details speaking to the microphones of the American television station CNBC: his share has actually reached 123 million shares, with a total value of about 18 billion dollars.

All this at the most opportune moment, as mentioned, given that better-than-expected sales of the iPhone 7, expectations for the next generation and hopes for a tax reform that allows large American companies to repatriate profits parked abroad in recent weeks have pushed the Apple stock to record highs and to a market capitalization of more than 700 billion dollars, basically the GDP of a nation like Switzerland.

Buffett first bought Apple stock last May on the back of a stock at its two-year low. Since Berkshire took the stand, the corporation's stock has only gone up demonstrating the success of an unconventional bet for Warren Buffett, which now believes that the capitalization of Cupertino could reach 1.000 billion.
