The new president of Anci is Antonio Decaro, Mayor of Bari and outgoing vice president of the National Association of Italian Municipalities. The open vote saw 4 against and 10 abstentions.
“Becoming president of Anci – declared Decaro – obviously makes me particularly proud in my city, just as it makes my citizens proud. I become president with them and thanks to them. My campaign slogan was 'we are my mayor'. Now I would like to turn it into 'we are my president of the Anci'. I will not be your president, I am one of us who has a responsibility to represent all of us. I wish we were all in this team, even those who told me this morning that there should be a change. I want these people to be on the team as well to implement the change.”
Renziano Decaro takes the place of the outgoing president Piero Fassino.
