Allianz expands into Africa: branch opened in Kenya

Kenya is the 12th country on the African continent where the insurance group establishes itself – The insurance market in and around Nairobi represents a premium collection potential of 1,5 billion euros, according to Allianz.

The Allianz insurance group strengthens its presence in the African continent: through the subsidiary Allianz Africa it has inaugurated its business in Kenya, 12th country of the black continent where the company is established. The insurance market in and around Nairobi represents a €1,5 billion premium collection potential, according to Allianz which is already present in Benin, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ghana, Mali, Madagascar, Democratic Republic of Congo , Central African Republic, Senegal and Togo.

Sergio Balbinot, Allianz board member responsible for Western and Southern Europe, Middle East, Africa and India insurance business, said: “Thanks to the new subsidiary in Kenya, our presence is growing further. Together with our industrial insurance entity Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty and our credit insurance company Euler Hermes, the Allianz Group offers a full range of products and services on the African continent."
