Allianz completes acquisition of Rogge Global Partners

Allianz Global Investors, a leading global investment manager, today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Rogge Global Partners Plc (RGP), a London-based firm specializing in global fixed income.

The combination of the two companies further strengthens AllianzGI's fixed income capabilities, while increasing the potential for international distribution of RGP strategies.

Andreas Utermann, CEO and Global CIO of AllianzGI, said: “This transaction represents a milestone in the evolution of AllianzGI and provides our clients with a range of different global fixed income strategies of proven value. As well as broadening our expertise in the international fixed income market – an asset class which continues to see very strong demand – the acquisition of RGP significantly increases our presence in the UK, a market of strategic importance for AllianzGI”.

George McKay, Co-Head, Global Head of Distribution and Global COO of AllianzGI, commented: “We are delighted to welcome colleagues from RGP to AllianzGI, with whom we share a common commitment to active management, a culture of similar and the same values.”

Franck Dixmier, Global Head of Fixed Income at AllianzGI and member of the Global Executive Committee, added: “Integrating RGP's core expertise in the global fixed income sector within our investment platform complements our product offering, it strengthens our bond know-how and client portfolio beyond our traditional European hubs and, over time, may offer attractive new product development opportunities.”

In line with the previous integrations, the distinctive dynamics of RGP in terms of investment philosophy and processes, characterized by a thirty-year history, will be maintained within the AllianzGI global investment platform. Malie Conway will continue to lead the RGP team and will report to Franck Dixmier as CIO Global Fixed Income. At the same time, RGP's emerging markets expertise will combine with that of AllianzGI's Emerging Markets Debt team, led by Greg Saichin. Portfolio managers in the new EM Debt team will always report to Greg Saichin, within the RGP framework.

Thus Malie Conway: “The growing interaction between colleagues from AllianzGI and Rogge since the announcement of the transaction has strengthened our belief that with this combination opens a new promising chapter in the history of RGP. Our clients will be able to count on the continuity of the management team, as well as the investment process and philosophy. We are eager to start working together with the new AllianzGI colleagues, for the benefit of our customers.”

AllianzGI has acquired 100% of RGP's share capital held by Old Mutual and RGP's management, for an undisclosed amount.
